You're in the market for a small SUV then? We believe wholeheartedly that you won't need to look any further than Mada's small SUV the CX-3. Comfortable, compact, versatile and delivering low on-road costs with great efficiency, means the CX-3 checks all the small SUV boxes. It has a number of features across the range like climate control, adaptive cruise control, and even all-wheel drive.
So, let's begin with our short Mazda CX3 review below, and prove to you why it's such a great car.
What is the CX-3?
The Mazda CX-3 is the everyday driver's car, the small SUV champion on the road. Versatile and comfortable, it doesn't skimp on features or comfort, whilst offering an engaging and responsive driving experience. The CX-3 is the bestselling small SUV on the market in Australia, and for good reason.
A head-turning design
It goes without saying the entire Mazda range is filled with stunning vehicles, and the CX-3 is no different. The elegant KODO design language is ever present in the current offering and is as visually striking as ever. From any angle, the CX-3 looks great with its swooping bonnet, emboldened wheel arches, and curvaceous silhouette.
The driving experience
The CX-3 shares the same platform and wheelbase as the already brilliant Mazda 2. Meaning CX-3 takes what's already great about the Mazda 2, performance and comfort and packs it into a larger package. Due to the smaller form factor of the CX-3 over other SUVs, the driving experience is a step above. It doesn't feel weighty and wallowy on the road like competitors and still allows for a large amount of room for all the passengers.
What's under the bonnet
The 2.0-litre Skyactiv engine boasts a 5.5 to 6.2 l / 100km fuel consumption. So, whether you choose the six-speed manual or the automatic transmission you're going to get a punchy and economical engine for the price. Due to the CX-3 sharing a lot in common with the Mazda 2 means the larger engine has a lot of breathing room to offer stunning performance for a small SUV.
A comfortable driver and family focussed interior
No detail has been forgotten when designing the interior. The instrument cluster has a centralised and driver-focused design with an easy-to-remember layout. Everything the driver needs is within reach. Whilst the cabin space is spacious and comfortable easily able to fit a family inside, thanks to the smart layout of the seating arrangement. Across the range the seats are comfortable and supportive, with higher trim levels offering nappa leather.
Features-a-plenty
As per Mazda's design philosophy, they offer a range of features that are only there to enhance the driving experience. Responsive and adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, apple carplay, android auto, and heated seats offer a luxurious and comfortable ride without needing to break the bank. Any long road trips with be a breeze even with the kids asking "are we there yet" every 10 minutes.
